I normally don’t wear makeup.
At best, I’ll wear some lip gloss if I’m going out, but still, I don’t even wear that everyday.
However, when I tried on silk DIY eyelash extensions for the first time I must say, I felt glamorous and was a bit surprised that with a little lip gloss, it looked liked I was wearing makeup even though I wasn’t.
Nice!
The brand I used for the silk eyelashes was from Moitie Cosmetics and I dragged my twin sister down with me to their headquarters in Los Angeles to be testers.
Now…since I don’t wear makeup that means as I’m sure you can guess, I also don’t go to the salon to get silk eyelash extensions. However, what I didn’t realize after trying on the Moitie Cosmetics lashes, is that eyelash extensions at a salon can be pretty expensive.
For instance, in Los Angeles where I live, the cost of silk eyelashes at a high end salon can run upwards of almost $300.
YIKES!
Even at regular salons where the average price runs about $160, that price tag would still be too costly for me…and for my wallet too.
So, what to do if you want to go a little glam for a while?
Well, a kit of salon quality, DIY eyelash extensions at home can do the trick and that’s exactly what Moitie Cosmetics offers.
The cost for an eyelash extension kit for a set of 3 will run you about $99 for a 30-45 day supply. The eyelashes can last for about 10+ plus days and doing your own DIY eyelash extensions can save you MONEY!
Why go to an expensive salon when you can easily do your own lashes at home?
According to their website, application of the eyelashes is about 5 minutes, but I’m sure that’s a realistic for someone experienced with DIY eyelash extensions.
Since I was a tester, I had the eyelashes applied.
However, if you are new to DIY eyelash extensions, on the Moitie Cosmetics’ website there is a page with step-by-step instructions on how to apply them.
So, my overall impression?
I really, really liked them! I couldn’t stop pouting my lips, batting my eyes, and taking selfies-lol.
Silk Eyelashes-Oooh la la!
I don’t plan to wear lash extensions anytime soon as part of my every day beauty routine since I am more of a natural beauty…if you know what I mean, but if I do, I would definitely purchase a set from Moitie Cosmetics.

See my review video with my twin sister below and watch me get the eyelashes applied.
If $99 for a supply kit of DIY eyelash extensions is a little bit out of your price range, purchasing silk eyelashes from your local pharmacy or online is a nice alternative.

As mentioned, I was a tester for the silk DIY eyelash extensions from Moitie Cosmetics and I was paid $25 for my time.
However, I did the review video and wrote this blog post on my own accord. All opinions are my own and I was not paid to leave a positive review.
