If you have beauty dining and glassware, don”t have it stored away it the kitchen cabinets where nobody can see them. Display them in a hutch or even on a bookcase! Those crystal champagne glasses you received as a gift from your wedding, the fine china your grandmother gave you, or that lovely teapot set you just had to have…put them on display for you AND your guests to enjoy.
This is basically the same concept as the dining and glassware. However, if you don’t have room in your kitchen for a huge hutch or bookcase, you can use your existing kitchen cabinets for create a decorating idea for your kitchen. All it takes is two shakes of a lambs tail to remove the cabinet doors and you can easily display your dinnerware and glassware on the shelves.
You can even paint the inside of the cabinets, or tape or use thumbtacks to hang up decorative paper, which you can easily switch out to give your cabinets and kitchen a different look and feel. Plus, if you have space on top of your kitchen cabinets, don’t forget to decorate that too!
I did this in my home and I bought inexpensive plates from the Goodwill and Ross. You can hang plates or serving platters on the wall that you frequently use, or you can buy inexpensive plates for decorative purposes. The ones I have on the wall in my kitchen are for decorative purposes.
What’s nice about hanging plates on the wall, you can do a color scheme like all white or a color that matches your kitchen. Or you can get funky and use plates with different designs. Don’t be afraid of color or decorative patterns. Hanging plates on the wall will create a unique look for your kitchen and it’s a fun idea!
Love coffee or tea? This kitchen decorating idea is perfect! I know I’m HUGE tea lover and something like this in your kitchen will give it a coffee/tea house feel to your home.
It’s super easy to create since all you need is a bar cart or kitchen cart where you can add all the items you need for your coffee and/or tea in one station. Heck, during the holidays you can even make it a hot coco station.
Don’t have a bar cart or room for one in your kitchen? No problem! You can go down to your local Ross, Tj Maxx, Target, or Marshall’s to buy a serving tray. Then all you need to do is add stacked coffee or tea cups, a few of your favorites items for your morning beverage, some spoons, coffee pot or tea pot.
Prop that on your kitchen counter or kitchen island table and you now have your very own coffee or tea station.
If storage space is a problem for you and you don’t have any room to put away your pots and pans, try hanging them on the wall. This is another unique kitchen decorating idea that will be admired by your guests. Instead of hanging pots and pans on the wall, you can also hang pots overhead from the ceiling.
Initially I wanted to do this when I saw my best friend had her pots and pans hanging from her ceiling. However, I didn’t have room to do so in my small kitchen since I have track lights.
So…I decided to hang pots and pans on my wall instead where I created a cute, little bistro look. All I used to hang the pots and pans on the wall was a towel rack, which I got from Target a few years ago. I love the look and it gave my small wall a cool look.
If you are looking for some kitchen decorating ideas, try one of these! You can incorporate one look or three and they are super easy to do. I have three of the looks in my kitchen 🙂
